jack and david are two college students who work for a bail bondsman to earn some extra cash. their boss oscar sometimes sends them on some pretty weird assignments. and when he sends them on what he says is a simple assignment, something happens that has them in deep trouble and they have to resort to their wits to get out of it. later oscar sold his business to ex-cop tom bannon, who at first didn't want the boys but when they showed how skillful they are, he kept them on.
