简介

Helene Netzler (Asta Nielsen), the owner of the Gluckauf Copper Mine, learns that the mine is exhausted and that her own financial situation is thereby threatened. But with souveranity, and Diva-like, she solves the dramatic situation. As part of its Women and the Silent Screen series held June 11-13, 2008, the Cinematecket in Stockholm will be screening a the 1916 Danish film The Queen of the Stock Exchange (Die Borsenkonigin), written and directed by Edmund Edel. The film is from the Nederlands Filmmuseum. Paired with the film will be the trailer to the lost film The Sunken (Die Gesunkenen, Rudolf Walther-Fein, 1925) also starring Asta Nielsen, a film in which she costarred with the actress Olga Tschechova.
