月见草(学名:oenothera biennis)为柳叶菜科月见草属下的一个种。适应性强,耐酸耐旱,对土壤要求不严,一般中性,微碱或微酸性土,排水良好,疏松的土壤上均能生长,它在土壤太湿地方,根部易得病。北方为一年生植物,淮河以南为二年生植物。它是本世纪发现的最重要的营养药物。可治疗多种疾病,调节血液中类脂物质,对高胆固醇、高血脂引起的冠状动脉梗塞、粥样硬化及脑血栓等症有显著疗效。
