by thom owens tennessee plates delivers the edgy rockabilly punch that fans have come to expect from mark collie, but not in quite as a consistent fashion as some of his earlier records. although it has its share of love songs, the album does continue the stripped-down, direct approach of unleashed -- it just doesn't have the same amount of high-quality songs. that said, the best songs on the record are very good indeed, and make the album a fun, entertaining listen.
