发展中国家科学院(the academy of sciences for the developing world , 简称“twas”)原称第三世界科学院 (third world academy of sciences -- twas) ,成立于1983年11月10日,总部设在意大利的里雅斯特,是非政府、非政治和非营利性的国际科学组织,由巴基斯坦物理学家、诺贝尔物理学奖获得者阿布杜斯·萨拉姆教授倡议创建。

2012年9月18日,发展中国家科学院第十二次学术大会暨第二十三届院士大会在天津开幕；中科院院长白春礼当选发展中国家科学院新院长；中国政府决定向发展中国家科学院提供150万美元捐款。
