简介

尽管三十年代的电影特技水准无法跟今天的好莱坞相比，但当时的出色幻想片却以丰富的创意和风格化的导演手法拍出颇高的娱乐效果，本片就是其中一个例子。老牌巨星莱昴内尔．巴里莫尔饰演一名含冤入狱的犯人保罗，他跟疯狂科学家马赛一起逃出魔鬼岛，并且躲藏在马赛的老旧实验室中，马赛发明的一种血清，可以将任何活着的东西缩小。保罗继承了他这条药方之后，利用他为自己报仇，将两名陷害者变成小玩偶，然后自己假扮成老妇人来对付他们，终于使他们吓得向警方坦承罪行。导演陶德．布朗宁的另类惊讶手法像今天的蒂姆．伯顿，片中经营出来的诡异气氛给人留下深刻印象。

stknight@@@2010-11-21@@@1@@@那个年代的不少科幻片都喜欢拿缩小人做文章，在1935年的《科学怪人的新娘》里就出现过这种缩小人，不过只有几个镜头。在托德·布朗宁的这部《魔鬼玩偶》里，缩小人的戏份大幅增加，看来技术成熟了。话说片中做这项研究的初衷是为了地球有限的自然资源能供给更多的人口、使用更长时间，很有现实意义
