伊薇特．米米亚克斯与汤米．李．琼斯饰演一对亡命鸳鸯,在这部以逃亡为主要内容的影片中有令人同情的动人演出。女主角因好心让人搭便车,却被警方以娼妓罪将她下狱,而且监狱长还趁机强奸了她。她忍无可忍杀了监狱长,在另一男犯人协助下逃出监狱。原本陌生的男女主角也在危机四伏的逃亡过程中坠入情网。导演迈可．米勒在影片前半部成功地以女主角的厄运争取到观众对她的同情,而后半部的逃亡也拍出紧凑惊险气氛,使本片成为制作不大但戏味浓郁的娱乐片佳作。
