In Rio de Janeiro, the bankrupted Roberto meets his wealthy friend Guimarães to propose a business and he learns that Guimarães has a lover, Leninha, and his wife suspects him and intends to hire a private detective to investigate his affair. Roberto proposes that Leninha moves to his home to live with his dysfunctional family to cover up the situation. In return, Guimarães pays Roberto's debts and hires him to work in his company. Roberto's son Carlinhos pimps the widow Gilda; his daughter Vanda works in a brothel; his younger son Kiko has gay friends. They welcome Leninha, but Roberto's wife and his father-in-law loath the situation. When Carlinhos and Leninha fall in love with each other, they flee to the apartment of Carlinhos' friend Bilu. But the vile Roberto finds a means to bring his son and Leninha back home.
