玛丽莎·艾索瑞奇，Melissa1961年5月29日生于堪萨斯州Leavenworth市中西部的一个小镇，8岁就开始把玩吉他，不到11岁就开始音乐创作，13岁时，早熟的她就已经面对观众表演了。在伯克利音乐学校待了一段简短的时间，21岁时便只身前往洛杉矶，以酒吧演出为生。在一次长岛俱乐部的演出后，被签入了Island唱片公司。1992年，在克林顿美国总统就职庆典上，梅利莎表明了自己的同性恋身份。1993年和1994年，Melissa连获两届格莱美大奖。1988年发行首张专辑至今，梅利莎的唱片销量在全球已突破两千五百万张，首支单曲《AngelsWouldFall》一经推出，就冲进了Billboard排行榜的TOP10。Melissa是一位乳腺癌患者，更是一位坚强的歌手，她在2005年格莱美音乐大奖上曾以光头示人。美国全国乳腺癌联合会的主席说：“梅利莎向人们发出了一个强有力的宣言：也许我患病了，但我仍然来到了这里，我不会离开”。
