Trained as a classical singer in childhood, she turned to pop in her teens, first finding fame as the vocalist for 1960s beat groups "O Hara" and "Zlatni akordi". Her solo debut in 1968 led to appearances at numerous pop festivals and she was quickly recognized among the most prominent female vocalists in the former Yugoslavia. She began leaning towards a jazz-rock sound and released her first solo album in 1973. (Dnevnik jedne ljubavi，Diary of One Love) was backed by some of the best Croatian rock musicians of the time. Since then Lisac has had an official muse in her husband，composer Karlo Metikoš, who has composed music for her albums She also performed in first Croatian rock-opera Gubec-Beg: Rock Opera as Jana, the village girl, to excellent reviews in her first theater experience. After a brief stint in the USA, she returned to domestic territory with several pop-oriented albums (all composed by Metikoš) and gained new popularity in the 1980s, often voted as the best female singer of the year. Her 1987 album Boginja，Goddess was her first collaboration with other composers and very successful commercially. The death of Metikoš in 1991 slowed her down a bit, but she continues performing (giving annual concert tributes to Metikoš) and as a special guest on other musicians' projects.
