Earl Rowe, Birth: Aug. 21, 1920 Riverside, New Jersey, USA Death: Feb. 1, 2002 Moorestown, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA Actor. He began his career in 1941, playing summer stock in New York, when his career was interrupted by World War II. After he was wounded in Germany, he transferred to Army Special Services and toured Europe performing in GI shows. After his discharge, he returned to acting working on the "Playhouse in the Park" radio show and in Broadway productions. For feature films, he is best remembered for his role as the police chief Lt. Dave in the science-fiction classic "The Blob" (1958). He had his biggest success on television appearing on "Goodyear Playhouse", "The Doctors", "Naked City", "Kojak", "Ryan's Hope" and the TV movie "Attica" (1980). He died of complications from Parkinson's disease at age 81. Trivia Rowe had a three-year role on NBC-TV's now-defunct soap opera The Doctors. Earl Rowe served in the infantry during World War II, commanding a mortar squad.
