Erik Bruhn remains legendary among the greatest dancers of our time. Through dance, he sought to attain and express the ‘unattainable’, a transcendence to the spiritual. The film is an unusual, personal portrait showing many personal clips and interviews with the artist never before released. The documentary has two angels: Erik Bruhn as an outstanding artist performing ballets like ‘Swan Lake’, ‘La Sylphide’, ‘Giselle’, ‘Carmen’ and ‘Miss Julie’, but also his outlook on life in which he, in his own words, tells us about his relentless search for the sublime - and the pain and loneliness connected in this search. When somebody asked Erik Bruhn: ‘How are you?’, he often answered: ‘I’m the same, only more’.
