简介

看起来有些不着调的“王牌接线员”拉里摇身一变，成为了大城市中的卫生督察员，他日常工作的重点是那些卫生状况堪忧的低档小餐馆和食品原料来源可疑的特色饭庄，对于嘴馋心热的拉里而言，这绝对是个无限悠哉游哉的美差，拿着证件一展威严的同时，尽可一饱口福。可是，悠闲的生活突然出现了变数，上司给拉里派来了一个有板有眼的新手搭档艾米（艾丽丝·巴哈饰），以配合他的工作。循规蹈矩的艾米给喜好打破常规的拉里带来了不少障碍，更倒霉的是一个大麻烦又落到了他的头上：去全城最火爆的餐馆调查神秘的食物中毒事件。餐馆老板牛气十足，拒绝配合调查取证，走投无路的拉里只好施展男人魅力去勾引甜美害羞的女招待简（梅金·普莱斯饰），借此套取餐馆内幕，结果偷鸡不成反蚀米，害得拉里丢了公职。心不甘气不顺的拉里转向暗中调查，誓要查明食物中毒的真相，为自己讨个说法。
