Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, but then based as a singer-songwriter out of Los Angeles and Nashville both touring and recording, Denton's music brings together well crafted storytelling, energetic rhythms, and powerful authenticity. There's something both genuine and catchy about his newest record "Locked" that brings you back in to listen again and again. Jay himself also has a diversity of interests that color his music and bring a unique perspective. Denton has worked as a hand to hand combat trainer all around the world, has done both international and domestic level private security, and is involved in the counter human trafficking community as well. His experiences working on many continents bring in a depth and meaning to his songs that goes far beyond the surface. Currently based in Los Angeles, Denton works as a songwriter and producer for a wide array of artists ranging from country to rock to pop, to R&B many of whom have recently come off of shows like "The Voice" and "American Idol". But Jay still writes and records his own songs as an artist as well, and his brand new record,"Locked", is a greatly anticipated release that offers a window into the singer/songwriter/producer's soul. Working with fellow producer, John Coggins, on this record in Los Angeles, they have developed a unique, fresh, and driving sound that takes you on a ride from start to finish.
