by Tony Wilds Released between the classic More (Mondo Cane) albums, the eponymous Kai Winding serves up more mod trombone with ondioline and "water sound" guitar on some tracks. "Get Lost" is a Claus Ogerman tune and arrangement, and other tunes such as "China Surf" sound as if they could be leftovers from the smash More set. Unfortunately, there is no central theme and most of the tunes, brief as they are, rank as filler. "The Ice Cream Man" adds to the chilly ondioline a too-slick kids chorus which sounds like the "ya ya" bits from the Lolita soundtrack. "China Surf" has shades of Ennio Morricone's western themes, and the more bluesy (and not so far out) "Far Out East" further exploits the guitar's samisen sound. "Oltre L'Amor" really sounds like an outtake from the More album.
