gerhard pechner,german baritone. he sang at the charlottenburg opera house in berlin from 1924, notably as don pasquale with maria ivogün (a beautiful hungarian opera singer) and karl erb. mr. pechner was forced to leave his home country in 1933 because of his personal feelings. he left for prague, czechoslavakia and then went on to buenos aires, argentina.
